Bluebell Railway
Of particular note for those with an
interest in our 'Southern' heritage is the very high
standard of restoration work to be found on the
Bluebell Railway. One of the very first active
preservation groups, the Bluebell has attracted a
wide selection of stock from the Southern Railway,
its constituent companies and its successor. Visitors
are regularly able to ride in carriages designed by
Maunsell and Bulleid (in addition to older and more
recent designs) pulled by steam locomotives of
vintages varying between the 1870s and the 1950s. For
